Program:
Students who currently work or are planning a career in accounting or taxation with a for-profit organization, not-for-profit organization, or a federal, state or local government, should major in General Accounting.
Students who select the General Accounting program with specialization in Financial Accounting will focus their accounting studies on financial accounting standards for government, not-for-profit, and for-profit enterprises. This career-oriented program enables you to sit for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Examination.
The Bachelor of Science in General Accounting program provides students with the skills to understand the business environment, business concepts, and the accountant's ethical responsibilities and role in the business world. Students will be taught to employ accounting principles and procedures to record and present business financial results.
"Thank you for the in-depth and well taught curriculum. It was challenging, but well worth the effort. I found my job on my first interview, and have been doing well in the real-world. Thank you again!"
Christopher S. Langtry, '05 Staff Accountant - Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa
