Curriculum:
The Corporate and Homeland Security undergraduate program is an interdisciplinary major. Offered through the Division of Business and Accounting, the major is a collaborative effort with the school's Division of Mathematics and Computer Information Systems as well as the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
As a collaborative effort, the program benefits from an intellectual diversity of seasoned Mercy professors with outstanding teaching credentials, real world expertise and commitment to student success. Additionally, the program includes professors and speakers who are professionals in the private and public sector fields of Risk Management, Corporate Security, Homeland Security, and Information Assurance.
Students in the Corporate and Homeland Security program may select from one of three specializations: Risk Management, Homeland Security, or Information Assurance (Cyber Security). These specializations are designed to provide students with an opportunity to direct their studies upon a focused area of interest within the broader security discipline.
Corporate and Homeland Security students will take foundation courses ? such as homeland security, safety, terrorism, ethics, legal issues and risk/crisis management ? that provide a basis for specializations in Risk Management, Homeland Security, or Information Assurance.
At least one internship is required for each specialization to give students hands-on opportunities to build their confidence by applying material taught in the classroom through applied, real world situations. Students will graduate with assurance and poise knowing that they already possess practical experience within the Corporate and Homeland Security field.

Mercy's Corporate and Homeland Security program is unique because it is multidisciplinary, offering courses in business and security concepts.
How can I earn a degree when I work full time and have other responsibilities such as family to deal with?
You can be a full-time student earning up to 12 credits a semester by taking advantage of Mercy College's "B & C Terms." Our "B & C Term" are two eight-week terms that run during a semester. Thus you can be a full-time student by taking two courses in the B term and two courses in the C term yet technically you are attending on a part time basis.
