    Program:

In today's business climate, not only do modern organizations have to achieve their primary goal of complete customer satisfaction but they must do so more quickly, productively, effectively and efficiently than their competitors. If they can't, they risk going out of business, plain and simple.

So, how do businesses increase their chances of success? Through the use of time tested Management Principles. Our Bachelors Business Degree in Management will show you how management is used by modern-day business leaders and managers to create "road maps" that allow them to navigate the intricate and often challenging internal and external environments in order to achieve their goals. You will be challenged and engaged by an academic and professional faculty who have demonstrated successes in the classrooms and in the business world.

The specialization in Management gives students in Business Administration the opportunity to learn and apply knowledge and skill which is essential to the successful management of organizations of all types and sizes. It focuses on the significant organizational and human resource aspects of management and compliments and enhances the studies undertaken in the foundation courses in the major.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

How many credits can be transferred from another institution?
You may transfer in up to 75 credits from a two-year institution, up to 90 from a four-year institution and up to 90 credits combined however the credits may not exceed 75 credits from any combination of two year institutions as they apply to your chosen degree. B. In addition you may only transfer in two courses of upper-level business credit (six credits) to apply to the major / specialization. C. You must have obtained a grade of "C" or better in these courses. However "C- & D" may be accepted if you have obtained an associates or bachelors degree with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

How can I earn a degree when I work full time and have other responsibilities such as family to deal with?
You can be a Full-time student earning up to 12 credits a semester by taking advantage of Mercy College's "B & C Terms." Our "B & C Term" are two eight terms that run during a semester. These terms have classes that run commonly two nights a week. They are usually Monday - Wednesday and Tuesday -Thursday. The classes are run in an early and late time frame of 5:50-8:20pm and 8:30-11pm. Thus you can be a fulltime student by taking two courses in the B term and two courses in the C-term yet technically you are attending on a part time basis. We also offer our business degrees online which gives our students more flexibility.

I'm interested in Business but I'm not sure what specialization/major I should choose.
No matter what specialization you choose, all Business majors have to first complete a set of foundation courses. These courses consist of a number of different courses which gives our students an insight to our major concentration. These foundation courses along with our Business Mentoring Program run by Professor Thomas Bonville help our students in planning their careers and in search for appropriate jobs.

Is there help available for me to register and choose my classes & schedule?
Yes, Carole Coupe is the Advising Coordinator for the Business Division. She can be contacted by telephone at 914-674-7456 or email ccoupe@mercy.edu. Carole along with additional Academic Advisors at each of our campus & on-line are ready to assist you in any way they can.

How many credits are required to complete the program?
    A B.S. in Business is 120 credits.
