Degrees from the Natural Sciences will allow the student to go on to graduate studies in Medicine, Research, and Health Sciences, while degrees from the program in Veterinary Technology will qualify the student to take the NYS V.T. Examination, allowing licensure as a Veterinary Technician in private practice. The student will also be qualified to take the National American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Examination for licensure as a Laboratory Animal Technician. The following are some professional career areas now open to graduates of Mercy College Vet Tech Degree Program: Private Practice; Biomedical Research; Industrial Pharmacological Research; Government, and Zoological Parks.
