    Behavioral Science Specializations:

    Program:

    The Behavioral Science program is for those students who wish to broaden their major field to include both Psychology and Sociology, Mercy College offers a multidisciplinary major in Behavioral Science. Specializations are, also, available in Community Health, Gerontology and Health Services Management.

    The program provides a combination of structure and flexibility with 4 required courses and 8 elective courses. When selecting major elective courses, a student may tailor the program to his or her particular interests and career goals.

    Curriculum:

    Curriculum: Four Required Courses: Computers for the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Social Psychology, Methodology for the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Classics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences. Eight Major Electives such as: Careers in the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Families in Transition, Medical Sociology, Managing Human Conflict, Alcohol, Drugs and Behavior, Child Psychology, Psychology of Learning, Cognitive Psychology, and Internship for the Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Courses such as - Career and Life Planning Credit bearing Internships at a variety of work sites New Course for major credit--Careers in the Social and Behavioral Sciences All courses in the Behavioral Sciences are taught by professors who have much experience in a variety of workplaces, schools, corporations, health centers, which they are ready to share with you.

    What can I do with a Behavioral Science major?
    Behavioral Science major provides a lifetime's worth of useful insights and information about how individuals behave at home, at school, in the workplace and in the community. This helps to prepare a person for many jobs and occupations in a variety of settings including education, human services, business, government and law enforcement.     Yes, the Behavioral Science major is a very feasible choice of major for a transfer student. The major has 4 required courses and 8 electives which means that courses that you have taken already may be evaluated and may be credited toward your major. Such courses may also be counted as electives.

    I work, I have children. How can I fit the Behavioral Science major into my schedule?
    The Behavioral Science major may be fit into a busy schedule. Courses that you will need are frequently offered. In addition you may take the entire program online.
