  Admissions Information for F-1 International Students

 
 

Prospective students must complete the following for admission to Mercy College:

  1. Complete the Application to a Degree Program and its fee and send it to the Admissions Office. (Please check the appropriate boxes on application for International Students (F1) and I-20.

  2. Official transcripts from High Schools and/or Colleges and Universities outside of the United States must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) and must be sent by WES directly to the Admissions Office at Mercy College. TOEFL or SAT scores ARE REQUIRED for all non-native speakers of English (please contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions).

NOTE: In addition to WES, we will accept any evaluation performed by any member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)

Once an application to Mercy College is processed, all F-1 International Students will be assigned a Mercy College I.D. number. This number will be used for registration and other school related information. No other ID numbers assigned from another school or S.S.# should be used by International Students when applying to Mercy College.

Requirements for Issuance of I-20 Form:

  1. Full Acceptance into a Degree Program at Mercy College
  2. I-20 Eligibility Form( to be completed by the student)
  3. PASSPORT COPY
  4. A Notarized Affidavit of Support (To be filled out by Sponsor and notarized)
  5. Financial Documents in U.S. dollars - see I-20 Eligibility Form
  6. First semester tuition and registration fee* deposit plus a one-time international student fee
  7. Refund Certificate Form to be completed by party making tuition deposit. If the student is denied for a Visa, the tuition deposit will be refunded. A $100 processing fee will be deducted. A refund cannot be issued without this form.

Note: If you are transferring institutions within the United States, you must complete the F1 Transfer Form

** IMPORTANT** The International Students Office cannot issue an I-20 form until all of the above requirements are met. All I-20s must be issued at least 30 days prior to the starting date of each semester/term.
