  • Hiring and Application Process

    The Mercy College Student Worker Program allows students the opportunity to work on-campus throughout their college years. The program is designed to allow students the opportunity to gain practical experience working in an academic environment. At the College, student workers are valued members of the Mercy College community and work in all academic and non-academic departments.

    The student worker program runs annually from beginning September 1st and ending August 31st the following year. Majority of the positions available are for students that are eligible to receive work study through their financial aid. If you are interested in applying for a position you should meet the following requirements before applying for a position as a Mercy College Student Worker:

    Student Requirements:

    • Filled out, and submitted FAFSA Application
    • Accept Work Study for the Current School Year
    • Matriculated Mercy College Student
    • Registered Full-Time Student, minimum part-time of 6 Credits
    • Must possess a GPA of 2.5 On Campus, 3.0 for Work Study Off-Campus

    New Students & Transfer Students
    All new Mercy College students will need to go through the full process below so that they can begin interviewing for a position on campus. All students that do not follow the process below will be in danger of forfeiting any positions they may have been hired for. All students applications are on file and will be circulated to departments.

    Returning Students
    Students that will be returning to their previous position as a student worker in the same department will need to notify their department and submit a new clearance form before any schedule has been set. Any returning students that would like to work in a different department will need to submit a new application with a resume and go through the placement process.

    Non-Work Study/International Students
    Positions for students not eligible for work study are limited in the college. All students are encouraged to fill out an application and submit a resume. When positions become available students will be notified.
