Program:
Would you be interested in earning your Bachelor's degree in just 12 months? Through Mercy College's degree in Organizational Management (EDGE) you can earn your degree in as little as one year. If you have an Associate's degree or approximately 60 undergraduate credits, you may qualify for this special program offered at all our campus locations and online.
The Executive Development and Growth Experience (EDGE) program is an accredited, accelerated, completion degree program designed to accommodate working adults with campus classes meeting two evenings per week so you can put yourself on the fast track to advancing your career. The ONLINE EDGE program is completely asynchronous, allowing students to participate and meet course requirements within a flexible time frame.
Students advance through a prescribed three-semester schedule, taking only one three-credit course each month within the same cohort. This provides a consistent, supportive learning environment, and the interdisciplinary curriculum prepares students to apply their learning to dynamic challenges they face in today's continually changing workplace.

Faculty Mentor
Every cohort has a mentor assigned to guide each student through the writing of the Integrative Project thesis. The mentor is also available through the year to answer any questions or problems a student may be facing with course work. Since the faculty mentor will be the instructor for the first course, PSYN310 - Career, Life Assessment and Ethics, students will have access to their faculty mentor from the beginning of the EDGE ONLINE experience to the end.
Practitioner Instructors
Instructors in the EDGE ONLINE are all practitioners in their fields and, in addition to their academic expertise, provide students with real world perspectives on the topics in each course.
Cohort Structure
The cohort structure generates a consistent learning community. Students move through the program together, building a peer support network throughout the year and, often, beyond. Cohort sizes are kept small to facilitate both individual attention and effective interactions between students.
Online Student Orientation Programs
An Online EDGE Student Orientation is available one month prior to the start of classes. Once a student has registered, this Orientation can be accessed in the first course, PSYN310 - Career, Life Assessment and Ethics. The Orientation will give the student an overview of the EDGE ONLINE program, including information on the course of study, Life Achievement Credit, the Integrative Project, and required textbooks. It will also provide an introduction to effective online learning practices.
In addition, an online WebCT Orientation is also available on the Homepage of the first course. This Orientation will answer all the student's questions about navigating through the EDGE ONLINE program and through the student services on Mercy's Virtual Campus.
