Eligibility Criteria

Participation as a McNair Scholar is by application in the sophomore year with the following criteria:

• A grade point average of 2.7 or higher,
• United States citizenship or permanent residence
• Low-income, first generation college student or membership in a group under-represented in graduate studies such as : African-American, Hispanic, Native American,
• A declared major in a discipline for which a doctorate is the terminal degree
