Mission Statement
College students who are considering study beyond the baccalaureate
level can realize their dreams through the McNair Scholars Program at
Mercy College. The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program
was established by the United States Department of Education in 1989 and
named for astronaut and Challenger crew member physicist, Dr. Ronald E.
McNair.
The Mercy College McNair Scholars Program began in 1995 and targets low-income,
first-generation students and those who are from groups underrepresented
in graduate education. The purpose of the program is to provide enriching
experiences that prepare eligible students for doctoral study.
