Services and Privileges
|
As an Alum, what library privileges do I have?
- You may come to the libraries and use the collections and all the resources, including the subscription databases.
|
What borrowing privileges do I have?
- You may check out circulating library materials. The usual borrowing period is 3 weeks and a limit of 3 items at any one time, with one renewal period of 3 weeks. A library fine of more than $8.00 results in your borrowing privileges being blocked until the fine is paid.
- You may not use Interlibrary Loan service, which is available to you through your current college or public library.
|
What about off campus access?
- Alumni cannot access our databases from off campus, except for the catalog, because of restrictions by our vendors.
|
How can I borrow from the library?
- Go to the Library Circulation Desk. They will tell you which office to visit to confirm your alumni status.
|
How do I access the libraries’ resources in the library?
- All the libraries computers now require username and password logins. Library staff can assist you with this. You will then have full access to all the libraries’ resources.
|
How do I obtain an Alumna/e card?
- You should make an appointment with the Director of Alumni Relations who will provide you with a card. The Alumni Relations Office is located on the Dobbs Ferry Campus in Verrazanno Hall Room 38. For additional information about the Alumni Relations Office call (914) 674-7774 or email alumni@mercy.edu.
|
What else do I need to know?
- For assistance or further questions about library use by alumnae/i please call (914) 674-7256 or email inquiries to libcirc@mercy.edu
- Questions about availability of an item at a branch library may be directed to the specific branch.
