ABI/INFORM Global indexes and abstracts articles in the area of business and management from 1,800 English language U.S. and international professional journals, academic journals, trade magazines, and general business magazines. It also includes the Wall Street Journal and Barron's. Recent additions to the database include selected full-text doctoral dissertations and master's theses (primarily 1999-2002), the ABI/INFORM Archive (access to full-page images of older issues of many leading business journals), EIU ViewsWire country reports, and Going Global Career Guides. Articles from over 900 periodicals are full-text. Coverage varies by publication, with indexing for many beginning in the 1970s and full text in the 1990s. (Full-text for the Wall Street Journal begins in 1984.) Among its many subject strengths are corporate finance, marketing, organizational behavior, managerial economics, information systems, telecommunications, and health care administration. The Cochrane Library provides up-to-date information on the effects of interventions in health care. Cochrane reviews explore the evidence for and against the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatments (medications, surgery, education, etc.) in specific circumstances. The Library contains several databases, one of which is a collection of full-text articles reviewing the effects of heath care (the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews). The other databases (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews, and others) provide citations and abstracts. The Education Resources Information Center, sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education, provides comprehensive coverage of journal articles and documents (conference papers, reports, booklets, curriculum guides, etc.) in the field of education from 1966 to present. The Mercy libraries own many of the indexed journals and the entire collection of available level 1 and 2 ERIC documents on microfiche. (Dobbs Ferry has ERIC documents from 1981 through July 2004 and the Bronx from 1966 through July 2004.) Many documents issued 1988-present are available full-text online as part of the ERIC database, and a small number of full-text journal articles for recent years are now being added. PsycARTICLES contains more than 116,000 searchable full-text articles in general and applied, clinical, and theoretical research in psychology from over 60 scholarly journals published by the American Psychological Association, Hogrefe Publishing Group, the Canadian Psychological Association, and APA's Educational Publishing Foundation. The range of fields includes medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, communications, and others. Coverage varies, but most APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1. (The earliest journal is Psychological Review, which started in 1894.) Updating varies, but is as often as daily.
