Using Write-N-Cite Off campus

Note - When using "Write-N-Cite" from off-campus, you need to configure a proxy URL in order for it to work properly. Follow these instructions:

• For Windows users
1. From the Start Menu, select Programs and then RefWorks
2. Select the "WNC Proxy Configuration Utility"

3. Enter the following Proxy Server URL: http://rdas-proxy.mercy.edu:2048/login?url=https://www.refworks.com/Refworks/?WNC=true Click on OK

4. Click Ok
5. Start up Microsoft Word and follow the instructions below on how to use Write-N-Cite
• For Mac users
1. Activate Write-N-Cite
2. Select Preferences from the Write-N-Cite menu
3. Select the Proxy option and enter the following Proxy Server URL: http://rdas-proxy.mercy.edu:2048/login?url=https://www.refworks.com/Refworks/?WNC=true
4. Restart Write-N-Cite for this proxy configuration to take effect

• Click on the "Write-N-Cite" button that appears in Microsoft Word

• Write your text and go to the "Write-N-Cite" window to click on "cite" to insert a reference
• To generate a bibliography, click on the "Bibliography" button at the top of the "Write-N-Cite" window (a new version of your document will be saved containing the formatted bibliography)
• Verify the final version to ensure the accuracy of the bibliographic information and the precision of the formatting
