Message from President Tim Hall

Dear Mercy College Community,

I am pleased to share with you an update on the progress of our efforts to ensure a seamless pathway for students from the former College of New Rochelle (CNR) to complete their degrees at Mercy College.

This fall we welcomed over 1,700 CNR students and more than 45,000 CNR alumni to the Mercy community. We have enjoyed getting to know everyone over the past year and are proud of the many students who will graduate this February and those who are on track to graduate this spring and summer.

To ensure as little disruption as possible, many former CNR students were able to continue their programs this year at the New Rochelle, Harlem and Brooklyn Locations. As communicated previously, we will be leaving these locations at the end of the summer term, and we look forward to welcoming students to our Bronx and MercyManhattan Campuses beginning in the fall of 2020. The Bronx Campus, located at the Hutchinson Metro Center, has been renovated to include state-of-the-art facilities for many of our programs including the accelerated nursing program, and we are in the process of creating a new simulation lab for the traditional nursing program. In addition, we recently celebrated the opening of our new 95,000 square foot MercyManhattan Campus in the heart of Herald Square. This new high-tech space includes a 70-seat Bove Media Center, enhanced academic space, contemporary “living room” spaces and a new dormitory slated to open in the  fall of 2020.

Over the next few weeks we will be hosting a series of “Fall 2020 Next Step Meetings” at the New Rochelle, Brooklyn and Harlem Locations where College administrators and student life representatives will be available to answer any questions. We will also be hosting a series of visiting days at the Bronx and MercyManhattan Campuses where students can tour each location and see first-hand the newly renovated state-of-the-art facilities. A calendar of these dates is attached, and students will receive an email from Kevin Joyce, Vice President of Students Affairs with detailed information on the registration process.

Through this agreement we have become a stronger college, and we thank you for your patience and your support. We understand you will have questions and we have created a website, www.mercy.edu/cnr-next-steps, that includes more information on program offerings, as well as links to a take virtual tour of the Mercy Campuses.

Sincerely,

Tim Hall Signature
