Administrative Staff

Full summary of benefits available to Administrative Staff from Mercy College.

All benefit time begins accruing on hire date. No benefit time may be used prior to completion of Introductory Period (90 calendar days).

  • 20 Vacation Days per year (Accrue from date of hire - to be used between July 1 and June 30th). Eligible employees may carry forward 5 days into the new fiscal year which starts July 1.
  • 3 Personal Days per year (Accrue from date of hire - to be used by June 30)
  • 30 sick Days per year (Unused days carry over each year to a max of 180 days)
  • 1 Week off between Christmas and New Year's Day
  • Military, Jury Duty and Bereavement Leave

Health benefits take effect on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment:

    • Liberty Plan - In network only - no referrals needed
    • Freedom Plan - In/ Out network - no referrals needed

Dental Plan

  • Guardian Dental Plan
    • DMO - In network only
    • PPO - In/ out network

Vision Coverage

  • United Healthcare - for eyewear/annual eye exam
  • Term Life Insurance - 2.25 times annual salary (to max of $200,000) paid for by Mercy College. Coverage over $50,000 is a taxable fringe benefit and may be waived
  • Short Term Disability (NYS-STD) - Employees are eligible immediately
  • Long Term Disability (LTD) - F/ T employees are covered after 1 year of service (60% of monthly income to a max of $1,500) paid for by Mercy College - voluntary coverage available
  • Family Medical Leave (FMLA) - F/ T employees eligible after 1 year of service and working 1,250 hours

Flexible Spending Accounts (Ameriflex) - Pre-tax deductions

Employees may contribute to plan after introductory period - Mercy College contribution begins after second anniversary.
