When and where is commencement held?

The 85th Commencement Exercises for Mercy College will take Virtually. More details to follow soon. 


Do I need a ticket to attend the ceremony?

Graduates participating in the virtual ceremony do not need a ticket. You will receive information with specific details on how to join the ceremony online. 


What should I wear to the graduation ceremony?

You can choose to wear your academic regalia (cap and gown) ordered from the Mercy College Bookstore to participate in the virtual ceremony and celebrate with your family or just to have as a keepsake. To order the correct hood for your degree, please check your degree audit on Mercy Connect before purchasing your Commencement attire. You may check with your individual department regarding ordering additional ornamentation representing honorary societies. 


Where can I purchase my cap and gown?

Graduation regalia can be purchased beginning April 8 at either the Dobbs Ferry or Bronx bookstore. Pre-ordering, sizing and fitting are not necessary. If you are unable to visit the bookstore, please call the Dobbs Ferry Bookstore (914) 674-3603; or the Bronx Bookstore (718) 863-9316, should you have any questions.


What if I have an outstanding balance with the College; Will I be able to participate?

Please be advised that failure to resolve current and prior balances owed to the College will result in the ineligibility to participate in graduation activities, the release of final transcripts and/or release of a College diploma. Please visit the Office of Student Services at any of our five campus locations or call the Student Services Support Center at 1-888-464-6737.


 

What if a graduate has a disability?

If a graduate and/or their guest(s) need special arrangements for accessing or viewing the ceremony, please contact the Office of ACCESSibility at (914) 674-7523, accessibility@mercy.edu, or visit our office in Room 121, Main Hall, Dobbs Ferry Campus.


How does my name get on the graduation list?

To graduate you must satisfy all of the college, department and major requirements for that conferred degree. Should you have any questions regarding the application for graduation, please contact the registrar at registrar@mercy.edu.


When and how will I receive my diploma?

You will receive an email from the Registrar's Office when your diploma is available. It is the responsibility of all graduates to make certain that their correct mailing address is on file with the registrar's office.
