Nancy Heilbronner
Interim Associate Provost

Dr. Heilbronner serves as Interim Associate Provost. In this role, she has responsibilities for faculty affairs, governance and Faculty Handbook issues, resolution of student academic appeals, and the faculty tuition reimbursement program. She also works with the Office of Teaching Excellence and Engaged Learning (OTEEL), coordinates the Council of Deans, and serves on the IPS Committee.


Dr. Nancy Heilbronner was appointed as Interim Associate Provost in April 2017, Dr. Heilbronner is Associate Professor in the Mercy College School of Education and former Interim Dean of the School of Education, Since coming to Mercy in 2013, she has taught in adolescent education and educational leadership, and published 15 articles, book chapters, and articles related to science education, instructional technology, and social intelligence. As Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School (2014-2015), she oversaw curriculum development, program registration, and student appeals; as Interim Dean (2015-16), she was responsible for hiring and evaluation of faculty and staff as well as budget and management operations. Dr. Heilbronner earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut (Storrs).
