Interim Associate Provost

Dr. Ehmann serves as Interim Associate Provost. In this role, he has responsibilities for faculty affairs, governance and Faculty Handbook issues, resolution of student academic appeals, budget analysis and management (with Dr. Sandy Kyrish), and the faculty tuition reimbursement program. He also coordinates the Council of Deans and serves on the IPS Committee.

Background

Dr. William J. Ehmann was appointed as Interim Associate Provost in July 2016, returning to Mercy College from a similar role from 2009-2012, in which he led academic program development and a $2.6M Title V grant focused on retention and graduate student success. Bill has worked at several public and private universities, earning tenured professor rank in biology, subsequent to earning his doctorate from Utah State University. He maintains an active, funded research program with undergraduate students and is involved with several national programs for mentoring and awards to women and underrepresented populations in STEM fields.
