OnCampus Plus: Community Spaces
Being able to meet new people and hang out with friends is one of the most important aspects of college life. Dining halls, libraries, residence halls, classrooms and other community spaces will reopen this fall and widespread efforts are already being made across all campuses so that we are ready for students.
We will be taking extra measures and following state guidelines to ensure safety across all our campuses. Changes will include: face coverings, enhanced sanitation, social distancing and daily self-screenings. Additionally, wellness guidelines will be continuously evaluated and updated.
Dining on Campus
Dining on campus will adhere to the same rules already being followed for restaurants in New York. Indoor dining will be available if state guidelines allow, otherwise take-out dining will be available for students.
Mercy’s campus cafes will offer a larger selection of grab-and-go meals, which will include a range of fresh salads and healthy options. Silverware will be wrapped, and enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols have been introduced in the cooking and dining areas. Social distancing will be enforced in line with NYS guidance and face coverings should be worn. Additionally, we are exploring options for mobile food and beverage ordering.
There will also be enhanced cleaning protocols put in place for vending machines.

Academic spaces throughout the college are being evaluated and modified to make sure our students are able to stay safe while they are on campus. The libraries, computer labs and other student study spaces will reopen with new social distancing requirements to ensure a safe environment.
You can also visit the Mercy College library virtually. The Mercy College libraries are valuable resource for students with many virtual library services. The website is available 24/7 and reference librarians will be available during select hours to answer questions via online chat, text message and email.
Fitness Center Access
We are closely following New York State's guidance on gyms and will determine the best way to create access for our student to fitness opportunities.
Please keep checking back here for more information.
Across campus outside guests and in-person events for both outside guests and Mercy students, staff and faculty will be very limited.
There will be no outside or overnight visitors in the residential halls.
Visitors will be required to complete a COVID-19 self-screening before entering campus.
Those who are expecting outside visitors will need to register those individuals with campus safety in advance and chaperone them while on campus.
