MavCare Pledge

As a member of the Mercy College community, I pledge that I will adhere to the following principles in order to ensure a safe and healthy return to campus:


Wear My Face Mask, When Required 
As a Mav, I commit to wearing a face when required per Mercy’s policy. (indoors in common spaces on campus including classrooms, meetings rooms, hallways, bathrooms, elevators, cafeteria lines, bookstores, libraries, fitness center, health office, counseling office and when visiting an office. Adhere to the COVID Vaccine Policy 
As a Mav, I commit to only attending in-person courses on campus if I am fully vaccinated and uploading my vaccination status on the College’s health records management system here
Wash My Hands Frequently 
As a Mav, I commit to rigorously practicing hand hygiene and cough etiquette. I will wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after having been in a public place, or after blowing my nose, coughing or sneezing. I will avoid touching my eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. If soap and water are not available, I will use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. 

Clean and Sanitize 
As a Mav, I commit to clearing and sanitizing my workspaces and common spaces throughout the day. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones and keyboards. 

Monitor My Health Every Day 
As a Mav, I commit to monitoring my symptoms daily and will not come to campus if I have COVID symptoms.  COVID-19 signs and symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or a new loss of taste or smell. Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. For additional information please visit the CDC's Symptoms of Coronavirus page

Stay Home If I’m Sick or Exposed to Someone with COVID-19 
As a Mav, I commit to staying home or leaving campus immediately if I experience signs or symptoms of COVID-19, and seeking medical evaluation by calling my primary care physician or local urgent care center. If I am diagnosed with probable or confirmed COVID-19, I will report my diagnosis to Mercy’s Student Health Office to facilitate contact tracing and will follow other guidance about isolation or quarantine.

As a Mav, I commit to being patient and courteous to fellow Mavericks during this unusual time and providing help to anyone around who may be in need of support.
