Test Prep Workshops

The Mercy College School of Education offers test preparation workshops for certification tests. We currently offer overview workshops on:

  • Educating All Students (EAS) (201)
  • Content Specialty Test (CST) for Early Childhood, Childhood (211/212/221/222/245)
  • CST Students with Disabilities (060)
  • CST TESOL (116)
  • School Building Leader (107/108)
  • edTPA (Mercy students and alumni only)

Students have found these workshops very helpful for passing the exams. Most test prep workshops listed above are open to Mercy students, alumni and the general public.

Please note that the ALST is no longer a requirement for teacher certification as of March 14, 2017.

To register and pay, please go to: http:www.mercy.edu/testprep.

If you have any questions about the test preparation workshops, please email Anna Gedrich (agedrich@mercy.edu).

If you are planning on student teaching in Fall 2019, you must have a passing CST score. You must take the CST Exam by July 21 so that we have the results in time. Be sure to complete the "Application for Clinical Practice" in TaskStream by March 15 if you want to student teach in Fall. .

Training in the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) is required for everyone seeking certification. Mercy College offers six-hour DASA workshops to its students and alumni as well as the general public for $75.

For more information about the Mercy DASA program, including our schedule of upcoming workshops, please visit our website: www.mercy.edu/dasa

If you have questions about our DASA workshops after visiting the site, feel free to email us at dasa@mercy.edu.

New York State requires that teacher candidates pass a number of certification exams to become New York State certified teachers. Click the title above to see more resources which can help you prepare for exams.

Education Law in New York State requires that certain persons seeking licensure need to take two clock hours of training in the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment. Mercy College is a New York State approved provider for both workshops. Our workshops are open to Mercy College students and alumni as well as the general public and are offered on all four Mercy College campuses year-round.
