Helpful Resources

We recommend reading James Lang’s book titled “On Course: A Week-by-Week Guide to your First Semester of College Teaching.” He advocates for student participation on the first day of class to signal what is to come for the semester. Dr. Lang’s book is available at Mercy College Library or for purchase on Amazon.com.

Engaging student as partners in learning builds community. An excellent book on this subject is by Alison Cook-Sather, Catherine Bovill, and Peter Felten titled “Engaging Students as Partners in Learning and Teaching” and is available at the Mercy College Library or for purchase on Amazon.com
