    Globalizing the Curriculum

Embrace an international approach to teaching, learning and connecting.

The Center for Global Engagement furthers Mercy College's mission by establishing programs and initiatives designed to encourage the exchange of knowledge across international boundaries. Students are able to engage in learning about cultural perspectives different from their own.

Whether you are setting out on your adventure alone or are taking a faculty-led study abroad course, travel will open your eyes to the cultural complexity of the world around you.

Event Spotlight

In September, Professor Heiner Boettger from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (CU) in Bavaria, Germany, visited Mercy College to meet with President Timothy Hall and Dr. Sheila Gersh, Executive Director, Center for Global Engagement (CGE). The Center is pleased to announce the signing of a reciprocal agreement enabling students at both institutions to study abroad. Mercy students will be able to take courses in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts and Business at CU. The CGE continues to provide new study abroad opportunities for Mercy Students. Additional agreements have been  signed with universities in the UK and Israel during the Fall semester.

The Center has been invited to participate in a prestigious program to host an overseas contingent of young emerging  businesswomen  from Kosovo to visit Mercy College and Westchester County, to be given an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and exchange ideas with their American counterparts on breaking Kosovo’s “glass ceiling.” An important part of this program is to find five host families for these guests for the duration of their stay (Saturday, March 7, 2015 – Sunday March 15, 2015). Please contact if you are interested in hosting a visitor or if you know someone who would be interested in being a host.
