Dr. Gersh is the Director of the Center for Global Engagement at Mercy College where her responsibilities include designing and implementing the campus’ international education agenda to insure that students graduate with the international competence and skills they will need to function effectively in a world that is globalized and is charge with advancing globalization of the College’s curricular and co-curricular environment. In addition, she directs the study abroad program, programs with the United Nations and other international programs. During her five years at Mercy, she has travelled to Istanbul, London, Israel and Athens to review the Exchange programs that are available to Mercy students. She also directs the “Teach Japan” project, a grant received from the US-Japan Foundation. Prior to coming to Mercy College she was Director of Technology and International Projects for the Center for School Development, School of Education at the City College of the City University of New York. where she directed a variety of international technology projects, including CultureQuest (http://www.culturequest.us). She has presented/keynoted at conferences in the U.S. and around the world (Japan, India, Dominican Republic, Australia, Sweden, Austria, Spain, Finland, Denmark, UK, Israel, Italy, Slovenia). In addition, she has authored articles about international technology integration projects that have been published in the U.S. and abroad. She has a B.B.A from City College of the City University of New York, an M.S. from Hunter College of the City University of New York, and a Doctorate Degree from New York University.
