Mortimer Levitt Study Abroad Scholarship

The world can enrich your education in ways a classroom simply cannot. That's why the Mortimer Levitt Study Abroad Scholarship was established. So you can study abroad. We just ask that you return to Mercy afterwards to share your experiences with us.  

The maximum scholarship this year is $3,000.

Who is eligible?

  • Female students, currently enrolled at Mercy College
  • Undergraduate students: minimum of 36 credits
  • Graduate students: minimum of 12 credits
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • You must return to Mercy for at least one semester after studying abroad

How to apply:

  • Complete the attached application form
  • Write a two-page statement describing the project that you wish to undertake abroad. Include:
    • any special skills, talents or abilities that could enrich your experience
    • country and university where you would like to study
    • courses or projects you would like to pursue
  • Prepare a budget that outlines the cost of your plans. Including: tuition, room and board and airfare. Materials available in the Office for International Advising, Room 212, Dobbs Ferry Main Hall or in the Mercy College Libraries.

Selection process?

The Study Abroad Scholarship Committee will review the applications, interview candidates and award the scholarship.  

Can I apply electronically?

Yes, just fill out the application form online and upload your two-page statement, budget outline and supporting material in Word format.
