Dear Mercy Students and Families:
I write today with an important update about your fall course schedule.
We have heard from many of you who are excited to return to campus and others who would prefer to take their courses remotely. The College has planned for both options this fall, and some courses will operate in a “blended” format.
Our faculty and staff have been working diligently over the last few months to reimagine class schedules, spaces, and instructional delivery methods. Classrooms on our campuses have been upgraded with the newest technology, and our faculty are prepared to offer high-quality learning experiences in a variety of formats this fall.
Below is information on our color-coded, course-delivery options planned for the fall. Please note that not all courses will be offered in each format.
- In-Person On-Campus: All classes will meet in-person on-campus at scheduled days and times and will follow recommended safety practices.
- Blended Learning: Classes will meet simultaneously in-person on-campus at scheduled days and times and virtually via live stream. Instructors will provide students further guidance at the first course meeting. (Please note: The first class meeting for these courses will occur online and your instructor will provide more information on the class format.)
- Distance Learning – Synced: Fully online course delivered via Blackboard Learning Management System with live classes held at scheduled days and times weekly. Students interact with the instructor and classmates live.
- Distance Learning - Not Synced: Fully online course delivered via Blackboard Learning Management System completed without scheduled class meetings and not held live. Course content and assignments are completed online per the weekly syllabus requirements.
- Distance Learning – Hybrid: Fully online course delivered via Blackboard Learning Management System with a portion of the weekly class session held live at set scheduled days and times. The other portion of the weekly class session is completed online per the weekly syllabus requirements.
On the “Look up Classes” Screen in Mercy Connect, you will see updated information about each of the courses for which you have registered and the color-coded delivery method described above. Answers to frequently asked questions can be found here, and if you have additional questions, I encourage you to reach out to your PACT mentor.
