March 1 Message from Mercy College

Mercy College seal

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

As we communicated on November 16, 2020, the College cancelled spring break due to the unpredictability of COVID-19 and in an effort to keep our community safe.  In place of the traditional week-long spring break, students will have specific days when no classes will be held known as “MAV Days.” MAV Days are scheduled throughout the spring semester (see dates below).  Click here to view the Spring 2021 Academic Calendar for the complete term schedule.

MAV Days include:

  • Monday, March 22, 2021
  • Tuesday, March 30, 2021
  • Wednesday, April 14, 2021
  • Thursday, April 22, 2021
  • Friday, April 30, 2021

Administrative Offices will remain open and the College will operate as usual on MAV Days as it would otherwise during a traditional spring break.

We also want to inform you that students will not lose a MAV Day to make up time for the snow day on Monday, February 1, 2021. This snow day will be covered under the Lost Class Time Policy which can be found here. Your faculty member will provide details on any additional hours or work needed to make up this time. Please note that if unforeseen circumstances result in class cancellations during the spring term, MAV Days may be used as make-up days for courses at the discretion of and notification by the Provost.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate through the spring term.

Sincerely,

Jose Herrera
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
