The Mercy College Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to share the fall 2021 issue of Maverick Magazine which explores What it Means to be a First-Generation Student. Highlights from this issue include stories from our students, faculty, staff and alumni, many of whom identify as first-generation college students, and how they overcame obstacles to achieve their dreams. The magazine also includes stories on the successful return to campus amid the COVID-19 pandemic, alumni who were drawn back to Mercy to teach, and inspirational stories from alumnae Meisha Porter, M.S. ’03, H.D. ’20, NYC Schools Chancellor, and Eileen Niedzwiecki CNR SAS ’72.
