Mercy College School of Business Assistant Professor Rebekah Hanousek-Monge was quoted in a New York Times article about New Yorkers coming together to help seniors and other eligible individuals schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

The article, “’I Am Blown Away’: Strangers Are Helping Strangers Get Vaccinated,” highlights a Facebook group started by Hanousek-Monge called Helping NYC get Vaccinated, an online community interested in helping those who have difficulty navigating the vaccine scheduling system make vaccination appointments.

Created less than one month ago, Hanousek-Monge’s Facebook group has grown from a group of 77 members to about 1,500 members who have made hundreds of appointments for people in need of assistance, many of whom are in their 80s and 90s.

Also, on February 16, 2021, Hanousek-Monge was interviewed on CBS 880 radio about her Facebook group's success in helping schedule their vaccinations.
