Dr. Rossi Hassad, professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy College, epidemiologist, statistician and sought-after contributor to media sources tracking coronavirus developments, was quoted throughout journalist Jane E. Brody's recent New York Times article, "The Greatest Gift to Loved Ones This Covid Winter? Don’t Infect Others."

In the article, Hassad, along with other experts, explain, "...that what is known about the flu virus can inform our understanding of how and why Covid-19 is likely to become even more hazardous in the months ahead and that this knowledge can, in turn, reinforce the advice that everyone adopt readily available measures to thwart it."

The New York Times article is based on Hassad's recent publication in Medpage Today titled, "Why COVID-19 Might Get Worse in Winter, Just Like Flu."
