November 16 Message from Mercy College

Mercy College seal

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

As we communicated on November 3, 2020, the College has decided to cancel the 2021 spring break, and we wanted to follow-up with additional details.

We have made this decision because we believe that the cancellation of spring break will help reduce the risk of COVID-19 viral transmission to our community. Our faculty members’ and students’ continued physical and mental well-being is essential in our planning, and in place of the traditional week-long spring break, students and faculty will have specific days when no classes will be held known as “MAV Days.” MAV Days are scheduled throughout the spring semester.  Please see the Spring 2021 Academic Calendar for the complete term schedule.

MAV Days include:

  • Monday, March 22, 2021
  • Tuesday, March 30, 2021
  • Wednesday, April 14, 2021
  • Thursday, April 22, 2021
  • Friday, April 30, 2021

Please note that if unforeseen circumstances result in class cancellations during the spring term, MAV Days may be used as make-up days for courses at the discretion of the Provost.

We are deeply grateful to the Mercy community for its resiliency and commitment to the MavCare Pledge during this challenging time.  We wish all of you a productive end to the fall term and look forward to a successful spring.

Sincerely,

Jose Herrera
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

Kevin Joyce
