Denise M. Stefano, CPA, CGMA, MBA, Elected to FAE Board of Trustees

NEW YORK  (June 22, 2017) – Denise M. Stefano, an associate professor and the accounting department chair at Mercy College, has been elected to serve on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NYSSCPA) Foundation for Accounting Education’s (FAE) Board of Trustees.  Her term began June 1.

Ms. Stefano joined the NYSSCPA in 1998 and is a member of the Westchester Chapter, where she is a past president. She currently serves on the NYSSCPA Board of Directors as the Westchester Chapter representative.

Ms. Stefano has chaired the Accounting and Auditing Principles committee for the Westchester Chapter, and currently chairs the chapter’s Accounting Careers committee as well as the High School Scholarship committee. She also serves on the chapter’s Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP) Advisory Board.

At the statewide level, Ms. Stefano serves on the Audit and Academic Achievement and Higher Education committees. She previously served on the Political Action Committee (as the Westchester Chapter representative), the Quality Enhancement Policy and SEC Practice committees.

Ms. Stefano is a graduate of Iona College, with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Public Accounting and Finance/Financial Management. She resides in Westchester.
