DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2013) – Maverick Madness is back, Mercy fans!  The Mercy College Department of Athletics and Recreation is hosting its annual Maverick Madness event to tip off the official start of the 2013-14 college basketball season on Monday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. in the Mercy Gymnasium.

Head Men’s Basketball Coach Adam Parmenter and Head Women’s Basketball Coach Rashidi Aikens will present their teams to the Mavericks fanbase to open the event.  A team shooting competition will follow, after which a three-point contest and dunk competition will cap off the night.  A number of fans will also be selected for chances to win various prizes throughout the event.

Arrive on campus early for a full day of Mavericks athletics, as Maverick Madness will be preceded by the field hockey team taking on Bellarmine University at 1 p.m. and women’s soccer hosting The College of St. Rose at 3 p.m.
