On April 17, 2017 Mercy College hosted a women’s leadership conference that consisted of panels, workshop sessions and keynote speaker Sonia Manzano.

At the conference, attendees heard about the personal experiences of women leaders who pursued extraordinary journeys to success with panelists Donna Rosato, Dr. Belinda Miles and Corazon Pineda Isaac. During the workshop sessions, participants had the opportunity to learn about important issues women should know about such as managing their money, civic engagement and mentoring.

The conference’s keynote speaker was American actress, screenwriter, author, speaker and singer-songwriter best known for playing Maria on Sesame Street from 1971 until her retirement in 2015. Manzano read excerpts from her memoirs, Becoming Maria: Love and Chaos in the South Bronx.
