Students in the Mercy College Legal Studies Program were invited to the New York State of Court of Appeals to hear oral arguments. The Court of Appeals sits in Albany, making this a rare opportunity for students to observe oral arguments at the Westchester County Courthouse.

Before students heard arguments in the state’s highest court, students from Pace Law School met with the students to discuss the cases they would be hearing. After court adjourned, students were able to participate in a question and answer session with the judges.

Assistant Professor and Legal Studies Program Director Dr. Donna Bookin said, “This was truly an exception opportunity for our students and an amazing learning experience.”

In addition to Bookin, Social Sciences Chair Dr. Diana Juettner and Adjunct Professor Dr. Donna Drumm accompanied the students.
