About 40 MBA students from Mercy College recently competed in the Fifth Annual IBM Business Simulation. The students were divided into teams and given their tasks and background information on the company they would be representing.

Each team represented a supplier of IT hardware, software and services to buyers (the IBM executives) from three major banks that had to do an annual refresh of technology.  The goal was to both grow year to year revenue and gross profit margins while at the same time demonstrating a strong strategy for pricing, go to market approach, sales calls, multiple ethical situations and changing circumstances throughout the day.

Assistant Professor of Graduate Business Gary Bernstein said of the event: “While it was a busy and long tiring day, the Mercy MBA’s again distinguished themselves as competing favorably against all other colleges that also participate in the simulation.  The teams demonstrated thoughtful approaches, a coolness under pressure and strong business acumen.”

Congratulations to all the participants for distinguishing yourselves and our MBA program so well.
