Interview Attire

An employer will generally make a first impression about whether or not to hire you based on the first 30 seconds of your interview. It is crucial for you to dress appropriately.

For a job or internship interview, the suggested dress code is business attire. Not sure what that means? We have developed a brief guide for you.

Women's Business Attire Should Include:
  • All clothing should be laundered and freshly pressed
  • Dark colored skirt or pant suit (knee-length skirt or tailored pants, tailored jacket)
  • Solid colored blouse or top
  • Closed toed shoes with a modest heel
  • Simple jewelry
  • Not too much makeup
Men's Business Attire Should Include:
  • All clothing should be laundered and freshly pressed
  • Solid color suit (preferably dark color)
  • White or blue dress shirt
  • Solid tie (no wild patterns, bright colors, or bowties)
  • Dark dress shoes with dark socks (not athletic)
  • No jewelry, with the exception of a watch
