New Student Orientation

Welcome to Mercy College!

Our primary focus is to provide you with an enriched, transformative and educational Mercy experience. It is our mission to give you the high quality learning environment needed to prepare you for your future career. You will be introduced to many academic and student resources needed to foster the supportive learning environment for student success. This unique journey is only the beginning of a lifetime filled with continuous learning, self-discovery, and reflection!

Spring 2018 New Student Orientation Date

The following New Student Orientation dates are available for first-year students accepted for the Spring 2018 semester. Students from all Mercy College campuses are encouraged to attend, specifically the orientation at the campus where most courses will be taken!  Parents and Guardians are also invited to attend the Parent & Family Orientation Program that occurs on orientation days.

Spring 2018 New Student Orientation Dates by Campus

Bronx: Tuesday, January 16, 4:30-7:00pm

Dobbs Ferry: Tuesday, January 16, 4:30-7:00pm

Manhattan: Tuesday, January 16, 4:30-7:00pm

 

Spring 2018 International Student Orientation Date

Tuesday, January 16 12:00pm-7:00pm, Dobbs Ferry

Before Your First Day: Important Documents to Submit

The following items must be completed prior to your first day of class:

  • Submit official high school transcript in a sealed envelope including your final grades and graduation date
  • Submit final official college transcript(s) including final grades and graduation date (if applicable)
  • All students must submit proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine OR if you are an on-campus resident provide full medical record to satisfy dorm clearance process
  • Submit medical record with the meningitis vaccine OR submit the meningitis response form online
  • Complete the FAFSA
  • Complete the TAP application (if New York State resident)
  • If selected for verification, submit verification documents which may include: parent and student W2s, parent and student IRS tax transcripts, and independent or dependent verification worksheet
  • Complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling if you are accepting federal Stafford loans
  • If eligible for the Federal Work Study (FWS) Program, submit a resume and FWS application on Career Maverick
