Mav "Remote" Recreation Links and Offerings

The recent (and rapid) shift to online learning has made us reconsider how we can offer wellness and recreation programming to our students. In the spirit of campus solidarity and recreation, we would like to share some of the resources that we have found.

Physical fitness and wellness do not require access to a gym or fitness facility! Everyone can practice physical fitness (and wellness in general) on their own and with limited (or no) equipment! Physical activity (especially yoga and bodyweight workouts) are also a great way to relax and de-stress.

Mobile Apps:

Yoga for Beginners | Mind+Body

FitOn: Fitness Workout Plans

Downdog Yoga - Free until 7/1!

Down Dog offers multiple mobile apps that provide users with Yoga, 7-minute workouts, HIIT, and Barre workouts. It is normally an app that users would have to pay for. Given the recent changes in higher education, the app is free for anyone with a .edu email address until July 1st.

Mav Recreation - Intramurals, Club Sports, and Esports

Mav Rec Intramurals - Intramurals offer various leagues and events where one can compete throughout the year in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment. Our mission is to assist in organized recreational activities that foster a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, school pride and physical fitness among all participants and spectators. All offerings are gender inclusive and available to all levels of skill. Intramurals are open to all Students, Staff and Faculty to compete against one another. #BringYourGame

Club Sports - Club Sport teams will have the opportunity to compete at a non-varsity level against other colleges, universities, and other similar organizations. All clubs will have some form of a coach or advisor, and there will be a commitment requirement for practices and competitions. Club sports are offered exclusively for those individuals enrolled as undergraduate or graduate students at Mercy College. #SomethingForEveryone
