Amanda Bireline

Amanda Bireline joined Mercy University in 2021 and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Health Science teaching courses in the exercise science program (Intro to Exercise Science, Research Methods, and Sport & Exercise Nutrition) and the health promotion concentration (Intro to Health Promotion, Personal Issues in Health). She also teaches in the DPT program (exercise physiology and biomechanics). Amanda works extensively with the Title V ACCESS Grant and is an activity coordinator for Anatomy & Physiology II, responsible for revamping the curriculum and writing a institutional specific lab manual. She currently oversees both the lecture and lab portions of all API and II, serves as the Exercise Science Club faculty advisor, and serves on institutional committees. 

Prior to coming to New York, Amanda has taught at two other institutions within their exercise science programs in the Carolina's and has also spent 10 years in the health, fitness, and coaching industries. She holds several industry certifications as well as graduate degrees in exercise science and kinesiology.

B.S. - Exercise Science, Houghton University

Research interests include promoting health and improving quality of life through daily physical activity, the use of technology and social environments to increase activity motivation, prehab for injury prevention in athletes, and the correlation between physical activity, academic performance, and mental health.
