Can I drop in to ask a reference question?
Yes, librarians are meeting with patrons at the reference desk. We also encourage you to use our virtual reference services that include - Live Chat, E-mail (RefQ), Zoom, and Phone.
Where is the reference desk?
For help locating the reference desk, inquire at the circulation desk.
What technology equipment will I be able to borrow?
Laptops will be loaned for the entire day and are due back one hour before the library closes. Borrowing of headphones will be suspended.
Will library faculty offer group tours and information literacy sessions fall 2022?
Yes, library faculty-led tours, orientations, and instructional sessions are available face-to-face or virtually.
Can I donate print materials to the library, such as books, textbooks, children's books, journals or magazines?
The library is not currently accepting book donations. Thank you for thinking of the Mercy College library!
What is a CWID #?
Your CWID# (College Wide Identification Number) is your Mercy ID number. It can be found on any official correspondence from the college or it can be located in your records in Mercy Connect.
Can alumni access databases outside the Library?
Unfortunately, because of vendor restrictions, use of subscription databases and other electronic resources are limited to on campus use only. Please visit one of our three campus libraries if you need to access full text articles.
Can I visit the library if I am not affiliated with Mercy College?
Under the Visitors, Facilities Use and Event Policy, access to all Mercy College Libraries are restricted to students, faculty, staff, designated vendors and service operators, and invited guests (including parents/guardians, prospective students and families, board members, alumni, donors, partners, etc.) who are essential to our business model.
Alumni are now permitted on campus, but must first obtain an alumni ID through the Office of Alumni Relations, which requires showing proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Resources are available in many formats, including a huge collection of e-Books. Desktop computers, laptops and wireless network provide access to the libraries’ online catalogs, electronic databases and Internet resources to support the College’s on-site and online programs. Off-site users have access to the libraries’ online catalogs, e-books and databases through the Mercy College libraries’ website.
