J. Nathan Higdon, Ph.D. is a Senior Consultant with Full Circle Strategies, a social impact and thought leadership firm. He is an expert in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging and Change Management fields; he focuses his practice on anti-racist and anti-homophobic work. Higdon is a Senior Lecturer at Mercy College in New York City where he teaches Intro to Marketing (MKTG 220) and Economics of Public Issues (ECON 115); he enjoys teaching foundational classes to help get students exited about learning. He is CFO of Knox Pride, which holds the largest free Pride festival in the South. Higdon was elected to the TNDP State Executive Committee in August 2022 where he chairs the Youth Engagement Committee. As co-leader of IndivisibleTN, he aligns his passion for systemic change and politics on the state and local level. He is a sixth generation East Tennessean who believes in the power of grassroots organizing and is a proud member of SEIU Local200. Higdon holds a BA in Spanish and French from Maryville College in TN, MBA from Pennsylvania State University, and a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in Business Administration. He enjoys spending time with his senior dog, Jed, who rules his schedule.
