Registration for DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Workshops

The 6-hour DASA workshop fulfills NYSED and School District requirements for school professionals and for anyone seeking a teaching certificate, whether it is initial, professional, or adding on a new certification*. You do not have to be a current or former student of Mercy College to register for the DASA workshop.  Everyone is welcome.

Each workshop is divided into two 3-hour segments, called Part A and Part B. CLICK THE REGISTRATION LINK BELOW FOR WORKSHOP DATES. You may take both parts in one day (if both parts are offered on the same day) or you can schedule the two parts at different times for your convenience. The total cost for both parts of the workshop is $75.00.

A maximum of 30 attendees will be permitted in each session. To avoid oversubscribing, once the workshop fills, it will be removed from the website. However, another workshop will be scheduled in that location so check back often for updates.

Workshops are offered on all Mercy College campuses, year-round. For information about our campus locations, please consult our website:

*In some cases, the DASA workshop can be used towards professional development hours. (Check with your employer or your licensure office for guidance.)

To register, please click the link below. You will receive a receipt by email once you have completed payment, but we recommend that you make note of the date, campus and room number of your workshop when you register. You will receive a confirmation email 1 – 3 days before the workshop with detailed information about the workshop as well. Please note that workshop payments are not refundable; however, we will attempt to re-schedule you for a future workshop if you are unable to attend.

Please DO NOT be late to a session as the State requires attendance for all six hours of training. Presenters have been directed to turn away latecomers. Bring a notebook and pen for taking notes; we do not recommend electronic devices for this. Be prepared to bring food with you if you plan to stay for both sessions since not every campus has food for sale.

It takes 1 – 2 weeks after the workshop is completed to process your certificate. Once it is processed, Mercy College will send it to the NY State Education Department (NYSED) and a scanned copy will be sent by email directly to you. Please note that NYSED adds the information to your TEACH account.

According to NYSED, it should take a 1 - 2 business days to appear on TEACH. Please contact us if your certification of completion does not appear on TEACH within one month of your having completed the workshop.
