Overview

The 6-hour DASA workshop fulfills NYSED and School District requirements for school professionals and for anyone seeking a teaching certificate, whether it is initial, professional, or adding on a new certification*. You do not have to be a current or former student of Mercy College to register for the DASA workshop.  Everyone is welcome.

The DASA workshop is now offered online only. Each workshop is divided into two 3-hour segments. One part will be offered in a live, online format. Workshop dates are available when you click on the Click Here to Register button at the bottom of the page. The other part of the workshop is a self-directed module that students complete on their own time.

*In some cases, the DASA workshop can be used towards professional development hours. (Check with your employer or your licensure office for guidance.)

REGISTRATION

To register, please click the link below. You will receive a receipt by email once you have completed payment. You will also receive a confirmation email 1 - 2 days before the workshop with detailed information. Please note that workshop payments are not refundable; however, we will attempt to re-schedule you for a future workshop if you are unable to attend.

DAY OF WORKSHOP

Please DO NOT be late to the online live session as the State requires attendance for all three hours of the workshop. Presenters have been directed to turn away latecomers. Have a notebook and pen available for taking notes.

AFTER THE WORKSHOP

Once you complete both parts of the workshop, we will contact you to gather information. We will then send your information electronically to TEACH and a copy of your certificate of completion will be emailed to you. Please note that it can take 1 – 2 weeks to process your information and send it to the State.

Your information should take 1 - 2 business days to appear on TEACH once it is sent by Mercy College. Please contact us if your certification of completion does not appear on TEACH within one month of your having completed the workshop.

If you have any additional questions about the Mercy DASA program, please email dasa@mercy.edu.
