Janet Dolot
About
Janet Dolot is Associate Professor and Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mercy University. Her clinical background is in musculoskeletal physical therapy, practicing across inpatient, homecare and outpatient environments. She has post-graduate training in manual therapy and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist since 2007. She has worked in academia for over 20 years, teaching kinesiology, musculoskeletal physical therapy, and professional practice content.
She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, with service at the local and national levels.
She earned her AB in Chemistry from Cornell University, MS in Physical Therapy from Simmons University, Doctor of Physical Therapy from Simmons University, and Doctor of Public Health from New York Medical College.
Dr. Dolot’s research interests lie at the intersection of physical therapy and public health, with a focus on utilization of physical therapy services using large data sets. She has also worked in teams to develop programs to minimize work-related musculoskeletal injuries in dental students, and to develop research methodology to examine the effectiveness of exercise to reverse frailty in community dwelling older adults.
