About

Dr. Regina Cardaci is a nurse-midwife, nurse practitioner, and nurse educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She maintains an active clinical practice and integrates her extensive clinical expertise into the classroom to prepare students for evidence-based, patient-centered care. Her scholarly interests include innovative teaching methodologies, evidence-based best practices in women’s health, and improving healthcare access and outcomes for justice-involved populations. Dr. Cardaci was recently selected as a Project-Based Learning Fellow at Mercy University, reflecting her commitment to advancing active and interdisciplinary learning.

She is actively engaged in university service, contributing to initiatives such as the University Restructuring Task Force, serving as the Interprofessional Education (IPE) Liaison for the Nursing Department, and participating in the Day Care Task Force. Dr. Cardaci also serves the profession as a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives Research and Standards Committee, as well as serves as a peer reviewer for several professional journals. In the community, she collaborates with organizations supporting formerly incarcerated individuals, including the Correctional Association of New York, Hour Children, and the Shared Return Collaborative. Outside of her professional work, she is committed to health and wellness as a marathon runner, beginning triathlete, Pilates enthusiast, and certified Pilates instructor, and volunteers medical support at endurance events such as Ironman competitions.
