About President Parish
Mercy University President Susan L. Parish, Ph.D., M.S.W. is the 13th president of Mercy University. Formerly, the dean of the College of Health Professions and Sentara Professor of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Parish joined Mercy on July 1, 2023.

History of Mercy University
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1950, Mercy University became a four-year college offering programs leading to the baccalaureate degree in 1961. The College was accredited by the Middle States Association’s Commission on Higher Education in 1968.
