December 14 Message from Mercy College: Update on the College's Negotiations with the Adjunct Faculty Union

Dear Adjunct Faculty and Lecturers,

Mercy College and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) met on Friday, December 11, 2020 to continue negotiating the initial collective bargaining agreement between the parties.

We shared and/or discussed proposals on the following collective bargaining agreement topics: Union Security and Check off, Union Rights, Management Rights, Access to College Resources, Inclusion in the Academic Community, Institutional Support for Teaching, Grievance Procedure, Arbitration, and Discipline and Discharge.

We are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement on the topic of Institutional Support for Teaching.

The College has offered additional dates for bargaining in January, and we look forward to continuing to work with the SEIU toward additional agreements.

We will continue to provide you with regular updates on our progress as this important process moves forward.
