February 5, 2024

Dear faculty and staff,

We are pleased to share with you our final self-study report, which was submitted this week to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education as part of our regular reaccreditation process.

This period of self-study provided us with an essential opportunity to examine how well the strategies, structures, and resources we’ve established contribute to the ongoing success of our students and the overall institution. The evidence, points of pride, and examples presented in these pages focus on the myriad ways in which Mercy University, along with its faculty and staff, lives its mission in service to our students. We encourage you to take some time to read through the report and share in our pride for all that we have accomplished together over the last eight years.

We’d like to extend our utmost thanks everyone who contributed to this report. It took diligence and attention to detail from the entire University community, and we are deeply grateful for everyone’s commitment to this important step in our accreditation process.

From March 17-20, 2024, a site visit team consisting of peers from other institutions will meet with representative groups from around the University to verify what they have read in our report.  You will be notified via email and Outlook invites if your participation is requested at these meetings.  In addition, our entire community will be invited to join the team’s report out the morning of March 20 (either in-person in the Rotunda or by Zoom).

We will be conducting workshops in late February and early March to help prepare you for what to expect and what questions the team may have for you.  We will circulate a schedule for those sessions by the middle of the month.

We will continue to provide updates and post information to the Mercy MSCHE Webpage.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.

Sincerely,
MSCHE Steering Committee Co-Chairs
