February 5 Message from President Tim Hall

Mercy College seal

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

I want to provide you with an update regarding the Dobbs Ferry residential hall quarantine that was implemented on Wednesday evening out of an abundance of caution. We have now completed testing of 99% of the Dobbs Ferry residential students and identified a total of seven positive cases. Those individuals and their close contacts are now isolated from the rest of the population. All other students have now been released from the quarantine.

Based on positivity rates within the wider community, we anticipate that we may see additional cases during the rest of the term. As an additional safeguard, the College will again conduct mandatory testing of all Dobbs Ferry residential students next week. It is not anticipated that next week’s testing will require students to quarantine. We will also continue to test a random selection of our commuter students and faculty and staff.

It is more important than ever that we all continue to practice masking and social distancing both on and off campus. With your support, we can keep the positivity rate low on campuses and ensure we can remain open for in-person classes.

Sincerely,

Tim Hall
President
